MGA 82 MGA VS5005 V10 Dead VS5005. Unit has not power from supply. Set will not power up. The 130 volt line has a complete short circuit. Disconnecting from supply will allow supply to run all the secondary voltages normally. Tech had a shorted H.Out Xistor, caused by broken bias resistor in the base of the horizontal output. Replacing the Horizontal output and the bias resistor corrected the symptom.
MGA 83 MGA CS2771   Dead MGA CS2771R . This TV will not run. Power supply is damaged. Field tech replaced the same parts 3 times and each time it blows out the devices he just changed. This tech received this unit with a lot of hidden damage components. I had tech disconnect all secondary loads from power supply after replacing all the shorted components in the primary. Jumping the on/off relay the set was powered up with an variac at 10 volts AC Power supply oscillation began normal operation. But at 20 Volts A.C input the power supply B+ secondary, for the 140 volts, was already at 90 vdc. At 30 volts the B+ supply was running at 140 volts. Tech needs to replace C914, & C903 in power supply. After replacing the electrolytic in the primary side of the power supply Unit ran normally.
