PAN CT27G24A AUDIO CT27G24 When connected to a Digital Music Box the audio mutes. The television's Left & Right audio inputs are connected to a Digital audio decoder called a Digital Music Box. This is a special service that allows the customer to use there television receiver as an audio amp to listen to music that is supplied to the customer through the digital CATV system. The television incorporates an audio muting circuit when used in the "AUX" input mode. A sync detector monitors the composite video that is fed into the video input jack. If the video source is absent the audio mutes automatically. I need the tech to feed composite video into the video input of the television. When connecting video to the unused video input the set will have normal audio through the Digital music Box. The set needs video and sync to keep from muting the audio in the event the video ceases.

Pan CT32G33 AEDP311 AUDIO Ct32G33U Unit has popping in audio while watching the set. Seems to be coincident with bright scenes ion the video. Customer is using a CATV box and channel 3 input. It was suggested as a test the customer use the video / audio inputs to see if this phenomena shows up in that mode too.
PAN CT32SF35 DX1 AUDIO CT32SF35 Serial # LE82440270. Unit has a popping in audio when simply listening to the set. Tech support suggest to change out X201= EFCS4R5MS4, and D835= MA4121H. The latter is for an experimental trial to see is the phenomena stops and the set return to normal with out the popping in the audio background. In this case the Crystal corrected the fault.
PAN CT32SF36   AUDIO CT32SF36 serial number MD91890289. Unit has a symptom of a type of low level roar and splatter in the audio that sounds like adjacent channel interference. The splatter is much like one would find if one were listening to an AM radio, and the station that was being listened to was being interfered with by a strong signal that is adjacent to the one being received. It disappeared when the TV was put in the forced Mono mode. The symptom sounds like the side bands of either the SAP or the L-R DSB signal are being corrupted. By switching off the stereo decoder and just listening to the L+R signal we are far enough away from the SAP and L-R signals to receive clean audio. Tech needs to enter the tech menu and select the Sd parameter and reduce the MTS level adjustment. The level was set to 48 originally. I had the tech drop the setting to 32 which completely eliminated the splatter.
Pan CT31G31   AUDIO CT33G31 Unit has distorted audio on channel 13 only when on CATV. When forcing the television into the mono mode the audio is perfect. But when using the Rabbit ears the Stereo audio is fine. When using the aux input for audio it is also fine. Suggest the tech look at the MTS level adjustment in the tech menu. It is possible the level is set too high and when on the CATV system the added noise is too much for the MTS decoder.
PAN CT36SF35 DX1 AUDIO CT36SF35W serial ME82240013 Unit has pop in the audio during screen transitions. Tech needs to find out if this symptom shows up in the video in mode as well. No the trouble is not in the video input mode. It does not have the trouble when using the VCR into the channel 3 input. It was also discovered the customer uses a CATV box with a built in volume control. Customer sets the volume to near 80% level and adjusts the volume level on the CATV box. Unfortunately this arrangement causes the stereo subcarriers and the pilot carrier to drop out. The CATV box should have the Volume set to near maximum and Change D835 to a MA4120H
Pan PT51G44 P3 AUDIO PT51G44 Unit has no audio. Unit has audio at the line outputs but nothing at the speakers. Tech needs to know the inputs and outputs of the audio output IC IC2301. IC2301(5 & 2 ) are inputs. We had good audio on the inputs but the outputs 7 & 12 were flat line. IC2301 had B+. Recommend replacement of IC2301 AN5275. Note AN5275 corrected the symptom

When asking the tech about the quality of the audio in the tuner mode it was mentioned the audio is not as clean as it could be. It sounds like the audio is not going through the 4.5 MHz band pass filter with the best efficiency. Suggest look into the tech tip on this model. It is suggested that X201 be replaced. Also reset the EPROM by pressing the Action & Power button at the same time and hold for 8 seconds.

Pan CT32SF35 DX1 AUTOPROGRAM CT32SF35W Cannot auto program channels above channel 21. Several channels above channel can not be put into memory. Suggest the tech initialize the EPROM by pressing the "ACTION" and "Power" buttons on the television and hold them in for 8 seconds then release. This procedure allowed the CPU to reload the default values in the EPROM. It also cured the symptom.
PAN PT51DX80 P4 Bad Video Model is the PT51DX80 and the problems are:†† distorted chroma, distorted main picture, pip ok, low luminance to name a few.The below troubleshooting procedure may help narrow down the defective components.
On the J-board, parent video(main video) and child video(pip video) are switched and separated through IC3001.†† The parent v/y & c comes to the A-board via pins 5 and 7 of connector J15/A15.The child y and c are routed through A15/J15 pins 1 & 3. These two signals can be measured with the scope for distortion at that point.Another way to divide and conquer the problem is to hook up the "program out" video on the back of the unit to an external monitor.This is an output out of the A/V switching IC3001.This will show if the distortion is before the 3-line comb module or YC module or on the J-module.If the picture is clear the chances are that the YC module is defective. If the picture is still distorted at this point, suspect capacitors C3001, C3003, C3004. C3003 has been found to cause the problem on ocassion.Thanks to SS in Florida.

If that is unsuccessful then chance the value of the M2 parameter "M2 filter " adjustment in the MTS service mode. Also X201 crystal has been responsible for causing a buzz in audio. Pan CT32L8 NA10 Chroma intermittent Unit will run fine but loose chroma intermittently after one or two hours. Chroma will return if the TV is turned off then on again or if the channel or input is changed. This is a software change. Enter the service menu the normal way. Press power then hold the mute button for 5 seconds until a second menu pops up. Scroll down to address A5D5. There will be a value of 05. Change this value from 05 to 06. Exit from this menu by pressing Action and Power on the TV. Thats it!
PAN CT27G3   COLOR CT27G3U serial LD81630376. When customer is using only the television all CATV channels are received normally. When a VCR is used in the Play or E to E mode when channel 3 is selected on the television the picture looks normal too. But if the VCR is turned off and the television receives channel 3 source direct from the CATV, the television will not have color . Only when the channel on the TV is readdress or the set turned off will the color return to normal This condition is normal due to the way the AFC circuit is designed. It is not a dynamic type AFC network that operates continuously. It only operates at the instant of channel selection or at turn on. Once the tuning voltage is established it will never vary even if the source signal changes frequency. In other words the tuner will not track the incoming signal if it varies in frequency. The best way to reduce the effects of this symptom is to turn on the VCR first and start the play operation or E to E mode then change channels to channel 3 on the television. Or select channel 4 output rather than 3 on the VCR. This way it forces the customer to readdress the television each time the R.F. source is changed.

PAN PT60SX60 P4 Convergence PT60SX60 serial MY91230051 .We are not able set convergence based on the information listed in the service data. In the service data it does not mention the need to press the "MUTE" to toggle the dual function VOLT - & VOLT+ / CH- & CH+ which moves the cursor square, and once the mute is pushed these 4 buttons will operate the convergence adjustment. Be sure to periodically save the data by pressing 7 & "Action" to save the convergence settings.
PAN CT27D11 NA8 cycling on and off This TV would turn on for about 1 minute then would cycle off for about 30 seconds then on again for 40 to 60 seconds then cycle off by itself. It would stay on long enough for normal video and sound to appear. But the cycling would continue indefinitely. While monitoring the 5 volts to the IC001(18) we found the B+ would start out at 5 volts then slowly drop to 3.65 volts then the TV would shut off. We kept monitoring the pin and when it reached 5 volts the set would turn on again. This rise and fall in B+ to the system control IC continued the cycling. Q002(E) the 5 volt regulator was also rising and falling in B+, but the collector and emitter were stable. Unit had a defective Q002.
Pan CT2551   DEAD CT2551 Unit is dead. Will not turn on. No stand by voltage Unit had 4 volts peak to peak on the cathode of D001 in the stand by power supply. The high side of C022 is the main low pass filter for the stand by B+. Replacing the C022 with a new 470mfd @ 16 vdc reduced the ripple and corrected the television problem.
PAN CT27G34 NA6LM DEAD CT27G34W. Serial MD83150571 DEAD Unit has a shorted D825 zenor diode in the power supply. After checking the supply using a dummy load on the collector of the horizontal output it was discovered the supply was ringing correctly, But the Horizontal drive was missing. This was caused by some broken traces in the board for the stand by supply of the Jungle IC.
PAN CT31G31 NA5D Dead CT32G31 At times the unit will not turn on and if on the unit will shut it self CT32G31 NA5D SNOWY PICTURE CT32G31U Unit has a snowy picture when first turned on then after 10 minutes or so the picture will loose the snow and operate correctly. The tuner Suggest the tech inspect the Ant coupler switch. It is possible the diodes inside antenna coupler, relay, or solder connections are defective. After taking apart the RF jack There were 6 solder connections that were cracked. Tech resoldered these bad connections and it cured the trouble,17 81
Pan CT32G33 AEDP311 DEAD CT32G33U serial LD82460976. Unit blows the horizontal output transistor as soon as the power is applied and the unit is turned on the power supply self destroys and the horizontal all output shorts This chassis needs a load on the main supply for the horizontal output transistor. If for some reason this transistor has no drive the power supply will run away with the B+ and shoot it all the way to 330 vdc. IC101(46) must has 6.5 vdc on it in the standby mode. This is the Horizontal B+ for the chip. It's source is the standby 12 volts from D001 ant T001. We have "0" volts on IC101(46) Tech needs to locate D016 and R004 and check their integrity. If they are OK see if an excessive load can be found on IC101(46) Perhaps D532 zenor shorted. We have also seen broken traces caused by cracked CBA's causing this symptom by severing the B+ to IC101(46)
PAN CT36G22 NAD6 DEAD CT36G22V serial ME72610228 Unit has a symptom of shorting the horizontal output transistor in just a few seconds. Customer claims the set was hit with a line surge then the set was dead. Tech found a shorted Q551, and shorted D835 (a 200 zener on the 130vdc line to ground) This diode is part of a protection circuit the if or when the 130 volt source goes higher than 200 volts it will avalanche and short. Tech has not checked the power supply at this time to insure it's proper operation condition. It is suggested that the tech not replace the Q551 yet, but to remove it and place a 40 watt light bulb in place between the Collector of Q551 and the Emitter. This is just a dummy load
Pan CTL3181   DEAD CTL3181S Unit has short in the power supply. D816 was shorted. Generic diode is R2KN. The diode which the tech replaced is a Zenor connected to the 116VDC. After the tech replaced the diode the tech measured the 116 VDC line and found it was at 130 vdc. This is too high. Shortly afterwards the diode shorted again. Tech needs to install the B+ regulator kit in this chassis Part# TXANE011SER1. This kit contains about 18 components that will need to be replaced in the power supply, audio, and deflection circuit.
PAN CT27G4A GL10 Dead Lightening damage. Set came in *DEAD*. Diagnosed missing 5V to micro IC001 pin 61. Found Q002 5v stby reg. open (p/n 2SC1685QRS). 5V still low. Found shorted Vcc input pins on micro p/n MN1874085TN4, -TN5 or -TN6 (all interchangeable).Replaced micro, set would start via front panel pwr button only. Thereafter, all buttons except action would only cycle menu on/off, you couldn't turn the set off w/o removing power. Despite nice 5v p-p remote signal on IC001-1, micro ignored all remote commands. Found serial clock line low (IC001-60). Replaced IC2201audio controller p/n AN5828S-E1V and clock & data were restored to normal. Set still had keyscan problem. Found "Action" input at IC001-6 low at 1.1v. Normal = 2.8v. Found schematic to have significant errors regarding action line. To make a long story short, Action line is supplied by 13v run supply divided by R820, R821 to about 2.8v and applied to action switch: S008 or S006 (depends on model), to micro IC001-6, and to D807 in power supply. Not sure what D807 is for, but it was shorted and causing action line to be held low. D807 p/n MA165. It is suspecting this was caused by nearby static discharge of some sort. Set came in from area known for thunderstorms the summer months.
PAN PVM20r8 VCR Combo Dead Observations - Q505 and Q541 (2SA733), overcurrent protect transistors, have very low resistance between collector and emitter. Fix - Replace Q505 and Q541 Notes - Transistors may check good base/collector and base/emitter. Just about all of the 1998 Panasonic tvcrs use this same protect circuit.
Pan CT31SF22T   DEAD PAN CT31SF22T Unit is dead. Previous tech ordered flyback. Set still will not turn on. Too much of a load on power supply when turned on. No short circuits measured. I had tech defeat the H. out transistor by removing it. It was determined that D552 was shorted causing the set to shut down , but the transistor was still acting as though it had excessive collector - emitter leakage. Tech replaced the Horizontal output and the damper D552.

Pan CT32HL43G DXP2 Dead Unit has shorted Q551. Tech replaced Q551 and it shorted instantly. Further checking discovered that IC500, IC752, & Q755 were also shorted along with D711 & D708.It is suggested that when ever this condition occurs, that the following components be replaced. IC500, IC752, Q755, Q551, D503, & D402.
Pan CT31SF12T degauser CT31SF12T. Degausser not working. Tech wants to know what causes this circuit to fail Unit had the CRT replaced for a defective degaussing coil. The tube was changed a few months ago. Since then the cust moved. The original problem showed up again. Appears to has an open coil. Tech should replace degaussing coil (L814) and thermistor D850.
Pan CT31SF23   High voltage Missing CT31SF23U Serial # LD62610429 Unit has popping but no high voltage. There is B+ at the collector of the Horizontal output transistor. The voltage is running in excess of 60% of normal except the voltage at TP84 the 12 volts source at the power supply is only 6 volts. I would expect the voltage here to also be elevated by 60%. Suggest the tech look at R822, D821 and C826 as a possible problem.
Pan CT32SF31 High voltage Missing CT32SF31. Unit relay clicks but does not turn on. Raw B+ measures 188 vdc at pin1 of IC801. Then measure the resistance of the Soft start resistor R803. This device must be 82K. Resistor measure open.
PAN CT27SF12 GL10 Horizontal CT27SF12 Unit has insufficient horizontal sweep. The tech replaced the regulator and flyback without curing the trouble. I had the tech monitor the main B+ from the SMPS. It varied from IC806= TLP621GR. Unit had a defective C816, IC801=STR-S6302, ICIC804=ON3161-QR. Photo optic isolator was shorted
Pan CT31SF31   Horizontal Pan CT31SF31. Unit has horizontal sync bar floating through the PIP picture. This bar does not exist if external video is used. Just the PIP tuner. Unit has defective PIP tuner. The bar is visible using an oscilloscope and looking at the video out of the PIP demodulator.
Pan 20G33W NA6LM Horizontal lines This unit has random horizontal lines of noise through the picture. This only happens in the tuner mode. Sound is normal and the video input is perfect. Further checking the tuner AGC we found the voltage to be a clean DC level. But checking the IF AGC at IC101(29) we found a lot of random noise in the form of ripple over 1 volt peak to peak. Capacitor had an ESR of over 200 ohms. Replacement corrected the problem. Part is a .22mfd@50vdc
PAN CT31SX31E   Horizontal Width We have seen customer complaints of narrow picture.Checking IC750 the EW input voltages where incorrect.†† After further diagnosis D552 was found to be leaky and Q702 off of the junglechip was shorted Emitter/Collector.The following parts where replaced, which corrected the problem.

Pan 27SX11E MJ4M Horizontal width Unit has horizontal overscan and no OSD. Missing FBP pulse at IC001(27). Further tracing back to the source of the FBP finds it comes from decoupling the puls from the Q551(C ) then clamping it with a 27 volt zener diode. There was a short measured across the diode but it was actually the capacitor in parallel with it that was shorted. C561 a .027mfd@100dvc was shorted.
Pan CT27G24   LINES CT27G24 Serial LC91131463. Unit has white vertical lines on the lower left corner of screen. The lines never go away. Instructed tech to press the "Action & Power" buttons on the front of the television and hold them in for 10 seconds This will initialize the EEPROM in the set and it should disappear. This corrected the problem . The set is now operating normally.
Pan CT27SF25 DX1L LINES CT27SF25 Unit has bright vertical lines on the left side of the screen. These are only on premium channels. These are vestigial pulses on the from and back porch of the video signals. It is caused by a mis match in the insertion pulse created by the CATV box in order for it to invert the sync that was previously inverted at the signal source from the CATV co. Unless the tech can increase the horizontal width this condition will have to be lived with until the CATV co can match the insertion pulse better inside the CATV box.
PAN CT36G23   Lines Unit has, on the far left & right sides of screen, when viewing a CATV signal that was scrambled using the suppressed sync encoding process. These lines appear, to the viewer, as bright white vertical lines on the extreme sides of the picture. This is not noticed when receiving standard unscrambled signals. Suggested the tech to slightly "over" scan the horizontal sweep enough so these pulses will not be seen on the screen. The controls to adjust are R760 is horizontal width R761 is E/W pincushion.
PAN CT26SF25   LINES CT26SF25W LC81830381 1/2 of an inch in from the right hand side of the screen the set has a vertical lines that appears only on certain cable channels and also when playing back certain self recorded tapes If feeding the signal in from a signal generator through the tuner or video input the picture does not have the lines. This symptom sounds like an artifact left over from a process known as GSS or Gated Suppressed Sync that most CATV companies used in scrambling. If you may have to over scan the TV somewhat to hide this phenomena, or there the television may actually have a problem in the Retrace, Pincushion, or "S" capacitors located in the horizontal circuit. Components that the tech should suspect are C551, C552, C559. They are listed in order of there previous aforementioned function. These are safety type capacitors and can not be substituted. If any of these capacitors decrease in value the picture will narrow, and high voltage will increase. Assuming these are good you might try and vary the horizontal size and centering in the tech menu, and see if that has a positive effect. PAN CT32G4A DX1 OSD CT32G4A Unit has dark raster. OSD menu is looks somewhat normal. Cannot achieve retrace lines even thought he G2 is put in the maximum position. G2 voltage only measures 240 volts in the Maximum position. Tech replaced the CRT which did not correct the symptom. The G2 is slightly lower than normal especially when the G2 is placed in the maximum position. I asked the tech to remove the G2 feed wire from the CRT socket and measure the Q2 voltage unloaded. The voltage shot up to 722 volts. I then asked the tech to follow the traces on the CRT module and follow where the G2 voltage goes and look for any bypass capacitors that are on the G2 line. He discovered a C354 a 1000pf@2kv capacitor. I asked him to remove the capacitor and reconnect the G2 wire. The bright screen with retrace line returned. Readjusting the G2 to around 366 the set was able to operate at normal brightness again. Defective C354. ECKD3D102KB.
PAN PT51G63   OSD PT51G63 Randomly the OSD will turn on and stay on for 15 to 20 seconds then go away. This action is unpredictable and complete random in occurrence I need the tech to inspect the system control board for possible coolant leaks prior to condemning any other failure in the product.
Pan CT27SX11E MJ4M OSD missing Unit has too much horizontal overscan and no OSD Monitoring IC001(27) we have no horizontal pulses. Tracing the source of the FBP pulses discovered that they came from the decoupling a horizontal pulse from Q551( C) through a capacitor called C558. No pulses were found at the output of this de coupling capacitor furthermore there was a short to ground at a limiting diode D554. This is a 27 volt Zener diode. However C561 in parallel with the Zener was shorted. It was a .027 MFD @ 100 VDC. Replaced the device and the set returned to normal.
Pan CT31SF31 PIP Pan CT31SF31. Unit has horizontal sync bar floating through the PIP picture. This bar does not exist if external video is used. Just the PIP tuner. Unit has defective PIP tuner. The bar is visible using an oscilloscope and looking at the video out of the PIP demodulator.
PAN CT36HX41E DXP2 PIP Symptom: PIP inoperative from any input. Only the PIP window frame shows on the screen in a blank black box. Unable to locate any luminance from the PIP Luma / Chroma processor IC6502 on the AG board. Remedy: IC6502 p/n CXA2019AQ. It is a 40 pin SMD on the AG board. The AG board is a repair only item. Replacement of IC6502 corrected the symptom.
PAN CT36G22 NAD6 POWER SUPPLY CT36GT22V Power supply is whining when power is applied. Unit had shorted horizontal output but when it was replaced and the television operated with a dummy load of a 40 watt light bulb in place of the Horizontal output it was running at 160 volts when the AC was only 70 VAC. The main regulator is not running correctly tech needs to check the electrolytic in the power supply. Specifically C820 and C815. C820 is the main reference filter for the reference feedback to the regulator. Ö Unit had a defective C820 10mfd@ 63 vdc,

The tube was changed a few months ago. Since then the cust moved. The original problem showed up again. Appears to has an open coil. Tech should replace degaussing coil (L814) and thermistor D850.
PAN CT27G24A   RASTER CT27G24 Unit has weak OSD and weak raster. Checking the G2 on the CRT socket finds the voltage to be between 380 volts and 450 volts. This is normal. When connecting the cathodes of the CRT to a 4.7K resistor and grounding the free end we can generate a red, green and blue raster, but not very bright. This test should have given us a bright red, green or blue screen with retrace lines.
PAN CT27SF20 GL8C RASTER CT27SF20 Unit has dark screen or raster. When increasing the G2 voltage or simply increasing the contrast to maximum the television will loose vertical sweep. Tech needs to inspect the ABL components off of pin 3 of the Flyback transformer. C563, R551, R552, R553, R554, R555, & D556 are all part of the ABL circuitry.
PAN CT31G11 GL9 RASTER CT32G11 U Unit has not insufficient brightness. When raising the G2 voltage control the picture actually gets darker. Unit has only 78 volts on the G2 of the CRT with the G2 control in the Maximum position and raises to 140 in the minimum. C355 a .001 mfd @ 2KV is leaky.
Pan CT32G34 RASTER CT32G34A serial LD91160988 Unit has an intermittent symptom of loosing subtle brightness chances when a flat white field produced on the screen. I need the tech to monitor the G1 and G2 voltages at the CRT when the tube is connected then disconnected. Both voltages should not vary if the tube is disconnected at the socket. G2 was measuring 400 vdc. Tech was going to monitor the voltage and let me know what he finds
Pan CT32G4 DX1 RASTER CT32G4A Unit has dark raster. OSD menu is looks somewhat normal. Cannot achieve retrace lines even thought he G2 is put in the maximum position. G2 voltage only measures 340 volts in the Maximum position. The G2 is slightly lower than normal especially when the G2 is placed in the maximum position. I asked the tech to remove the G2 feed wire from the CRT socket and measure the Q2 voltage unloaded. The voltage shot up to 660 volts. I then asked the tech to follow the traces on the CRT module and follow where the G2 voltage goes and look for any bypass capacitors that are on the G2 line. He discovered a C354 a 1000pf@2kv capacitor. I asked him to remove the capacitor and reconnect the G2 wire. The bright screen with retrace line returned. Readjusting the G2 to around 387 the set was able to operate at normal brightness again. Defective C354. ECKD3D102KB.
PAN CT36G23 NA6DM RASTER CT36G23 serial LE82370096. Unit has no raster OSD OK, Sound OK Jumping the video in to the Y out of the combfiter causes the video to reappear. Unit will need a comb filter
pAN CT32SX31   Raster dark Weak raster, no OSD No sound except an AC hum in the audio When checking thepower supply voltages the tech found that C832(+) for the 7.5 vdc line was only 4.2 volts when it was cold. After 10 minutes the voltage would eventually rise to 8 volts and the set would get a dark picture with sound. Problem was C832 a 220mfd@16 vdc was open. Almost infinity ESR reading.
Pan PT51G44 P3 Raster Dark Unit has dark raster. When brightness is increased the picture begins to bloom and become darker. Acts as though the ABL circuitry is failing. When checking the circuitry around the ABL it was found to be OK. There was evidence of a capacitor on the board that houses the ABL &pincushion circuitry. This is C581, a 33mfd@160 vdc. Closer inspection found 1 leg had eroded away from the fluid that leaked from the capacitor. Replacement of the device corrected the symptom.
PAN CT32SX31E   raster tilt Picture not being level. Appears like the yoke is turnedThe customer may find they do not have enough range in the Geo adjustment from the customers menu also. There is a after market kit that needs to be installed part # TXANV16ESER (GEOmagnetic Kit) to electronically rotate the raster.
Pan CT36HXC43G DXP2 Shutdown Unit has shorted Q551 overheating. Flyback squealing with picture having insufficent horizontal sweep. Missing 4inches on each side Q755 was leaky from Drain to Source. IC752 was cracked on top and D711 shorted.Because of some history obn this chassis it was recommended for the tech to fro,mace the following; IC500, IC752, Q755, Q551, D503, & D402.. It is also a good idea to inspect R858, & R857 to make sure they are not burned and in spec. They must be 1 hom each. These are in parallel so they should measure 0.5 ohms collectively. If these resistore were damaged replace Q854. It and the resistors are part of the OCP circuit. These guys get hammered when the 144 vdc source get heavly loaded down.

Verfy main B+ across D825 Verify vertical output @ IC451 pin 2 Check pin 7 of the microprocessor IC001 for 1.6vdc.If higher suspect overcurrent shutdown Pin 7 IC001 read 4.7vdc (too high) which indicated either overcurrent or a false shutdown. After verifying the unit was not going into overcurrent shutdown, IC801 (shutdown photocoupler), was replaced and repaired the unit.Part number:†† PC817X2

Pan CT32HX41E DXP2 shutdown Panasonic Direct view shutdown problem. There have been numerous reports of the Panasonic CT32/36HX41E with a shutdown problem.One of the problems that may be causing this is C524 off pin 3 of the flyback shorting and killing the ABL voltage.This voltage should vary in the opposite direction with the brightness.In this case the voltage read .0vdc. PAN PT51G42V P3 shutdown At power up the set shuts down after only 3 seconds checking the anodes of all the diodes involved in the shutdown sensors (D847, D848, D849, & D846) It was discovered that D848 was high (8 volts). This diode is nonitoring the overcurrent sensor for the convergence output power supply. Replacing the convergence output IC's corrected the trouble. Replaced IK04 & IK05.

Pan PT51HX41 P5 Shutdown Intermittent Customer complaint of arcing in the picture and intermittent shutdown. Tech found CA41 rolling around the circuit board. CA41 a 4700UF at 25volts. Apparently had the legs cut to short from the factory. The capacitor could not be reinstalled because the teads were too short. Replacement corrected the problem
PAN CT32HX40B DXP2 Single bright color then shutdown SYMPTOM: Turn the TV ON - only blue raster with retrace lines and then TV shuts OFF. PROBLEM: Located failure with the blue video driver, one of the three ICíc on the picture tube CRT - generic # TDA 6111Q. The part was ordered and replaced and the customer placed a call again after 5 days. The same IC was blown again - there was a physical damage on the body of the IC. I contacted the Panasonic Tech. Support and received the followingadvice:††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† 1. Do not replace the IC if such a problem is located.

PAN CT32G3 G9 SYS CON CT32G3 Unit stuck in the Tech menu mode. Press the Action and power button at the same time and hold it in for 8 seconds. This will reset the EPROM and exit the service mode.
Pan C27G7 NA7DM sys cont Unit will turn on but the set will not develop raster and will not turn off. If monitoring the clock and data of the EPROM IC002(5 & 6) Monitoring theKey1 & Key 2 inputs of the microprocessor we found the Key2 was only 1.2 volts. Both of these pins should be 5 volts. IC001(8 & 9) are supposed to be 5 volts. It was suspected the action switch was leaky but after removal it still measured a low voltage. Measuring the resistance to ground we found it was 7070 ohms. Further checking found that D820 was leaky was shorted. This device is the steering diode for the over current protection circuit Q820.The part # for D820 is MA165A5VT. It is just a plain silicon diode
Pan CT27G4 GL10 System control CT27G4 Unit has intermittent lock up after the set is turned on. Unit has a picture but will not change channels or volume setting. Has no volume sometimes. Other times the set will run fine if the power is removed and reapplied again. Will not reset when pushing the "Action: & "Power" at the same time. Everything point to a system control failure. Sys Con IC was replace but did not change the symptom. Monitoring the Reset on IC001(54) finds a normal reset when the unit is plugged in. But when the power is turned on the Reset gets triggered again with multiple reset pulses that are not clean. Reset has what would be recognized as noise on the lines causing the Main system control to become confused. Replaced Q003 it was leaky.

The customer has a concern that when the channels are changed the raster and sound will mute, then the sound will come back then the picture. The Sound precedes the picture by 1/2 of a second. It appears the customer wants the mute delay time to match exactly. Since there are two different mute circuits, one that senses the video sync, and the other that sense AFT lock This delay will be different due to the type of signal received. I.E. CATV (HRC, IRC) or antenna. This delay is normal and is not considered to be a design fault

Pan CT27G12B NA6L Vertical CT27G12B Vertical output IC shorts out after 5 to 6 Days. Several components have been changed to try to correct this fault. However the vertical output will short out at power up intermittently. The manufacture has an upgrade for this unit. Two inductors called Bead coils must be installed in place of two jumpers that are on the main circuit board. These are jumpers J253 and J270. These jumpers are removed and replaced with the Bead coils Part # EXCELSA35. Tech will need to order a replacement vertical output and 2 Bead coils.
PAN CT27SF14 GL10C vertical CT27SF14 Unit has insufficient vertical sweep. Tech needs to enter the tech menu and select the D0 parameter. It was set to 101. Suggested the tech set the value to 104 or 105 to accomplish a slight overscan. To accomplish the tech menu mode the tech needs to enter the Setup mode and select the Cable mode, then select the TIMER mode and set the Sleep TIMER to 30, Push Action two times to exit the menus and with the remote select channel 124. Then on the Television put the volume to minimum setting. At this point a red CHOKE will appear in the screen in the upper left corner. Once this happens with the remote select a channel. Pressing the power button will advance the tech through the tech menus. Tech will need the "D" menu. D0 is the vertical size adjustment parameter.

PAN CT26SF25   Vertical LINES CT26SF25W LC81830381 1/2 of an inch in from the right hand side of the screen the set has a vertical lines that appears only on certain cable channels and also when playing back certain self recorded tapes If feeding the signal in from a signal generator through the tuner or video input the picture does not have the lines. This symptom sounds like an artifact left over from a process known as GSS or Gated Suppressed Sync that most CATV companies used in scrambling. If you may have to over scan the TV somewhat to hide this phenomena, or there the television may actually have a problem in the Retrace, Pincushion, or "S" capacitors located in the horizontal circuit. Components that the tech should suspect are C551, C552, C559. They are listed in order of there previous aforementioned function. These are safety type capacitors and can not be substituted. If any of these capacitors decrease in value the picture will narrow, and high voltage will increase. Assuming these are good you might try and vary the horizontal size and centering in the tech menu, and see if that has a positive effect. The faulty part is IC602 and causes the set to shut down. To troubleshoot this problem simply unload D 409 cathode, this defeats the SOS line associated with the vertical circuit. Always remove the CRT boards before proceeding. The pulse out of IC602 was 250mv p to p in all cases.

Pan PT50WXF5R V11W VIDEO PT50WXF5R MY31230007 Unit has a sever moirť pattern across the picture. Even in the video input mode with no video connected to the set. When looking at the composite video or luminance going to the WD board from the "X" board we have clean luminance. But coming from the WD back to the "X" boarded the luminance has a high frequency sin wave riding on the video signal. It appears to be about 5 microseconds in period which calculates to be 200khz. The trouble is a defective WD board. Defective WD board. SKDWDYBZ-40A. Tech must replace. No service data on this module.
Pan CT32G12V Video Noise Panasonic CT32G12V. Unit is making noise and pix is not clear This is a yoke buzz and may be normal due to the laminations being loose. They can be tighten by using Nylon wire ties around the yoke housing and tighten them to prevent the buzz from the vertical yoke current.
PAN PT51G42V P3 Video noise This unit has a symptom of noise on all horizontal lines on the screen when using the tuner or video inputs. It can be plainly seen if the unit is supplied a signal that contains an image of a dialogue box or Letter box. The horizontal edges of the box has vertical serration's on it resembling noise. If a similar signal is fed into the S-video input the box is clearly defined and looks perfect. It is believed this is caused by the comb filter circuit. Since tuner and composite video take the same path and the S-video takes another path it is assumed the comb filter will be the start of the signal tracing process. No schematic at this time.
PAN CT20SX11 NA6 VIDEO, WASHED OUT Symptom: Washed out picture (Like contrast level turned to lowestsetting). OSD Normal. Fix: Found open R563 (120K ohm) in the ABL circuit.
